Where you’ll go

Protected water, real destinations.

Cotuit sits on some of the calmest, prettiest boating water on Cape Cod — three connected bays, sandbars that come alive at low tide, and beach spots you can nose right up to. Your checkout chart marks all of it.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Do I need a boating license?

Massachusetts requires a Boater Safety Certificate to operate a motorboat. It's a one-time online course you can finish in an evening, and it's good for life. Book first, then take the course — we'll send you the state-approved link with your confirmation.

I've never driven a boat before. Is that okay?

You'll need your safety certificate, and then yes — the Whaler is one of the most forgiving boats afloat, and our checkout includes hands-on practice until you're comfortable. If we don't think you're ready, we'll say so and refund you in full. Nobody leaves the mooring unsure.

What if the weather turns?

We make the weather call, not you — and if we cancel, you get a full credit or refund, your choice. If conditions change mid-day we'll call you in early with a pro-rated credit. You never have to gamble on the forecast.

What if something breaks out there?

This is the part nobody else offers: if the boat ever has an issue, a professional marine mechanic comes to you on the water. You'll never be stranded waiting on a tow company.

Can I take it to Nantucket or the Vineyard?

No — rentals stay in our marked local operating area (the three bays and near-shore Nantucket Sound). It's plenty of water for a great day, and it keeps you in cell range of us at all times.

What's the deposit?

A card authorization hold, released after the return walk-through. Damage pricing is spelled out in your agreement up front — no surprises, no haggling.

Cotuit Bay is waiting

Summer doesn’t hold your date.

July and August weekends go first. Pick your day, and we’ll have the Whaler fueled and swinging on the mooring when you get here.
